Chihuly at Cheekwood-Fantasy in glass 5-30-2010

Chihuly at Cheekwood. Glass sculpture is strategically placed all over the grounds, and you walk around and experience it. In addition the artist created three chandeliers for the Cheekwood mansion. These glass creations look like flowers or birds or other flights of imagination, all mixed into nature. At night these are lighted (lit?) for a special effect. Worth a visit or several.

We joined visitors from all over the world in walking around and viewing the colorful shapes and forms. There are Chihuly glass sculptures at the Frist, too, this summer. In addition, Cheekwood has many mini-gardens to view, too, such as the herb garden and the wildflower garden.

You can get married here or have an event here. Three weddings were set for Sunday night after closing!

Finally, where do you think we ended the day? Where can you get homemade biscuits and fried chicken from the 1951 recipe--where else but Loveless Cafe. I wish I could remember how to wrap these pics and make them go in order.
